Adela Goldbard – Solo Show
Ex Teresa Arte Actual Museum, Mexico City
This solo show brings together immersive video installations, sculptures, textiles, and pyrotechnic paintings developed through Adela Goldbard’s collaborative work with Indigenous communities in Mexico and the Peruvian Andes over the past decade. The exhibition explores collective memory, resistance, ritual, and mourning across Latin America, tracing connections between territorial struggles, colonial histories, and communal forms of healing and renewal.
Through reenactments, speculative narratives, and sensory environments, the works examine how communities confront violence and loss while imagining possible futures. Moving between the Mexico–U.S. border and the Andes, the exhibition proposes what Goldbard terms a “poetics of violence”: an aesthetic and political approach in which destruction, ritual, and collective performance become forms of resistance, remembrance, and transformation.
