Harald Heinrichs is a sociologist and Professor of Sustainability and Politics at the Leuphana University in Germany. In research, teaching and transfer he works on social and political aspects of sustainable development. He is particularly interested in employing insights from sensory studies and arts-based research in sustainability science and sustainability policy. Recent publications in this context include: “Sustainability Science with Ozzy Osbourne, Julia Roberts and Ai Weiwei: the potential of arts-based research for sustainable development” (2018); “Sensory sustainability science – theoretical and methodological foundations” (2019); “Artful Sustainability Governance – foundational considerations on sensory-informed policymaking for sustainable development” (2020) and “Aesthetic expertise for sustainable development” (2021). Harald has been involved in numerous inter- and transdisciplinary research and development projects, serves in advisory committees from local to international level and enjoys to collaborate with artists and practitioners from different societal spheres in co-creative processes.
