Charlotte is approaching the end of her two year Research Master’s degree at Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam, specialising in cultural and sensory early modern history. She is currently working on her thesis which will explore representations of women in eighteenth-century London’s Exchange Alley, utilising a sensory studies approach.
During her time at the Centre for Sensory Studies, in early 2018, she helped organise upcoming “Uncommon Senses II” conference alongside attending lectures given by David Howes and conducting independent research. She benefitted greatly from discussing her research themes with the centre’s experts and utilised the resources available in Montreal, at both Concordia and McGill, to further her thesis study.
